Police chief moves home after criticism

A police chief who is taken from his home in Alphen aan den Rijn near Leiden to the police academy in Apeldoorn every day by a driver who lives in Friesland is to move house, the Volkskrant reports on Tuesday.

‘I am going to look for a new private home in Apeldoorn as soon as possible,’ Ad van Baal was quoted as saying, following last week‘s criticism of the 680 km daily round trip.
The driver will stay on the academy’s books but will drive another executive who lives near Westerbork in the north east instead.
