De Jong is most common Dutch name

De Jong is the most common Dutch family name according to data collected by a new website launched on Thursday evening by the Meertens Institute which carries out research into the Dutch language and culture.
The website contains information on all the 314,000 family names registered in 2007 as well as a map showing which names are most common in different parts of the country.
Some 86,000 people with the name De Jong are recorded in local authority registers, followed by Jansen (75,000) in second place and De Vries in third (73,000). Janssen (with double s) comes in fifth (55,000).

I am surprised the most common names do not start with "van"
