Avoid rush hour, Dutch Rail tells passsengersThursday 17 December 2009 Dutch Rail has urged travellers to avoid using the trains during Thursday's rush hour because dozens of services have been cancelled, the Telegraaf reports. The snow which hit the north and east of the country last night is set to move to the west later today, and NS says it wants to make sure that all trains can actually reach their destinations. Regional bus services in Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe provinces were suspended on Thursday following the heavy snowfall. A spokesman for bus firm Qbuzz told the Telegraaf it would be irresponsible to take their vehicles on the road because of the weather. The company will decide on Thursday evening whether to resume services on Friday. © DutchNews.nl Get the DutchNews.nl newsletter in your mailbox: Click here to subscribe
they are totally unprepared. unacceptable for the amount of money they ask for their services. f them! By joshua | December 17, 2009 6:40 PM The weirdest, nonsense, and whackiest news of this this year. Avoid Rush hour in trains. Oh!. So, when it snows, we are not supposed to take the train, but drive the car, and sit THERE in traffic. OK, is that why, the NS has decided to increase the price of monthly and yearly tickets by 5% for 2010?. And then the whole infra-structure comes to a halt with 6cm of snow?. Have these peopee ever heard of "Canada?". Now, how more whacky can this get, seriously? ROFL... LMAO.... LOL By Pinaki | December 17, 2009 8:27 PM Avoid trains, buses not running, traffic jams on the roads. Are you going to start a helicopter service to take me to office and back? By Thukral.nl | December 17, 2009 9:45 PM SIMPLY PATHETIC. I have been to russia, poland, lithunia countries that are POOR and with -20C life goes on as nothing is happening. Even in Greece when we have snow (even if we are not prepared due to the climate) the country had never such problems..with trains that costs 4 times less than here.. I just wonder for example if i compare holland with switzerlad or austria or germany. the Netherlands is PATHETIC concerning this issue By kos | December 17, 2009 10:44 PM What a joke. Get your act together Holland! Stop preaching to the rest of the world how wonderful you are, when you can't even handle a few centimeters of snow!
