Advocaat to take over at AZ
Wednesday 09 December 2009
Coach Dick Advocaat has signed a deal with troubled football club AZ which runs until the end of the current season.
AZ sacked coach Ronald Koeman last weekend following the club's exit from European competition and poor showing in the premier league this season.
Advocaat is the Belgian national coach but has been given leave to help out AZ. Belgium, which gets €150,000 in compensation from AZ, is not taking part in next year's World Cup.
Advocaat, 62, will make his debut at Saturday's away match against PSV Eindhoven.
