Tax treaty with Liechtenstein looms

Thursday 05 November 2009

The Netherlands and Liechtenstein are on the verge of signing a treaty which will allow Dutch tax officials to find out about secret bank accounts held by Dutch nationals, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

The paper says tax minister Jan Kees de Jager may sign the deal next week. He has already reached deals with the authorities in a number of other countries with tough banking secrecy laws, such as Switzerland and Bermuda.
