Lalique brooch stars on tv antiques show
Tuesday 17 November 2009
A gold, glass and enamel brooch by French master René Lalique has become the most expensive item ever to turn up on tv show Tussen Kunst & Kitsch, a Dutch version of the BBC's Antiques Roadshow.
The brooch, which is 7cm long, was bought by the present owner's grandfather in Russia where he was consul in St Petersburg and brought it back to the Netherlands during the revolution.
Valued at €100,000, the brooch is the most expensive item ever found on the show in its 25 year history. The episode will be broadcast on Wednesday and the brooch has since been sold, the Telegraaf reports.
