Dutch tourists killed in Chinese ferry accident

Two Dutch citizens were killed when a high-speed ferry travelling from Hong Kong to the neighbouring southern city of Guangzhou collided with a sand barge, news agency AP reports on Friday.

Hong Kong marine department spokesman Patrick Wong told AP, the accident on the Pearl river claimed the lives of a Dutch man and Dutch woman. It also injured two fellow Dutch travellers, five travelers from mainland China and two from Hong Kong.
The two were part of a group of 18 Dutch nationals who had been touring the country for three weeks.
Three weeks ago, four Dutch tourists in China were killed in a freak ballooning accident.
