Volleyball women take European silver
Monday 05 October 2009
The Netherlands' women's volleyball team took the silver medal in the European championships in Poland on Sunday, losing the final to defending champions Italy 0-3.
'You have to learn to play a final and we last did so 14 years ago,' coach Avital Selinger told Nos tv. 'Italy has won a number of finals and is better developed. But we still showed we are a top team, even if we still have a lot of work to do.'
Dutch team captain Manon Flier was voted 'most valuable player' of the tournament.
