Volleyball women take European silver

The Netherlands’ women’s volleyball team took the silver medal in the European championships in Poland on Sunday, losing the final to defending champions Italy 0-3.

‘You have to learn to play a final and we last did so 14 years ago,’ coach Avital Selinger told Nos tv. ‘Italy has won a number of finals and is better developed. But we still showed we are a top team, even if we still have a lot of work to do.’
Dutch team captain Manon Flier was voted ‘most valuable player’ of the tournament.
