Students rip off food delivery serviceFriday 16 October 2009 Hundreds of students have been ripping off meal delivery service Just-Eat by ordering food online and then cutting the automatic payment to a few cents, the Telegraaf reports on Friday. The students have ordered pizzas, sushi and other fast food via the internet and then used a weakness in Just -Eat's computer system to change the bill to as little as one cent, the paper says, quoting director Laurens Groenendijk. 'It is mostly groups of students from Nyenrode, Groningen and Utrecht. They have ordered food costing some €30,000 from us,' Groenendijk told the paper. Online payments are made using the Dutch bank's Ideal system. Technicians are now working round the clock to try to close the loophole. Groenendijk says he intends to make sure the students pay back the real cost of their food. Just-East claims to have 1,500 member restaurants and snack bars. © DutchNews.nl Get the DutchNews.nl newsletter in your mailbox: Click here to subscribe
Yes, you're absolutely right! In fact, I think we need to see more bank robberies, because that would increase the skills of the security guards! And of course, we shouldn't prosecute the ones who get caught, because they were providing a valuable service! Great thinking, I don't see how that could possibly turn out badly! By Jerry Hathaway | October 16, 2009 8:34 PM Well done my friends, they should not pay back anything, just ask for a bail out plan,,,,just eat it... By zen | October 16, 2009 9:45 PM I think you're right jj blood. So if someone steals from you, they're morally fine because they're not stealing, they're just "challenging" you to improve your security. If I beat someone, I'm "challenging" them to become fitter and take self-defence classes. If I burgle their house, I'm "challenging" them to install better locks. You can make up all sorts of excuses for immoral behaviour but it doesn't make it right. By angrypuss | October 17, 2009 2:22 AM Doing it to expose a loophole is just fine, but keeping on doing it is plain theft. By C.Overt | October 17, 2009 5:28 AM This actually shows the ethics and level of education of the students. I don't think they are picking up values from their education very well. A well-educated student will not rip off other people money, even if they find a loop hole in the system, knowing that other people are working hard and honest to earn their living. By ari | October 17, 2009 6:53 AM It's okay to charge 30euro for sushi that cost them less than five so fair play to the students. By justice | October 17, 2009 8:32 AM Place your comments: |

HA HA HA! Good for the students! I love that students are finding loopholes in software and such. It challenges us to be better at our jobs. I don't think the students should have to pay the money back.
