Students rip off food delivery service

Hundreds of students have been ripping off meal delivery service Just-Eat by ordering food online and then cutting the automatic payment to a few cents, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.

The students have ordered pizzas, sushi and other fast food via the internet and then used a weakness in Just -Eat’s computer system to change the bill to as little as one cent, the paper says, quoting director Laurens Groenendijk.
‘It is mostly groups of students from Nyenrode, Groningen and Utrecht. They have ordered food costing some €30,000 from us,’ Groenendijk told the paper. Online payments are made using the Dutch bank’s Ideal system.
Technicians are now working round the clock to try to close the loophole. Groenendijk says he intends to make sure the students pay back the real cost of their food.
Just-East claims to have 1,500 member restaurants and snack bars.
