Schoolgirl killed in bus crash in Spain.Monday 19 October 2009 A bus taking some 53 pupils and six teachers from a secondary school in Nijmegen on an educational trip to Barcelona crashed in the early hours of Monday morning, killing one 15-year-old girl and injuring a number of other pupils. Some 20 children were injured when the bus flipped over on a motorway exit heading for Gerona. According to Nos tv, 11 were still in hospital in Gerona and Figueres on Monday afternoon. Two are in a serious condition, the broadcaster says. One media report says something caused the driver to brake and the bus overturned on a bend. Nos tv says it appears the driver overshot the exit. Efforts are under way to bring the survivors back to the Netherlands as soon as possible. This summer six Dutch tourists were killed in a bus crash in the same part of Spain. In that incident, the driver was travelling too fast, accident investigators said. © DutchNews.nl
The incident is a great tragedy.I pitied these students.God will comfort & strenghten the family of the victims. By D | October 19, 2009 8:26 PM I'm spanish. I also think that there are dangerous roads in Spain but, in this case, it was a higway and clearly the driver had a terrible mistake, maybe the speed, maybe sleep, ..... The road was not the problem, in this case. It was a great tragedy. I'm very sorry By suintila | October 20, 2009 10:48 AM

Spanish roads have been proved to be highly dangerous and even lethal. I cannot understand why our students are still traveling to a such risky country.
