Football club AZ safe, despite DSB problems

Alkmaar football club AZ is safe despite the problems facing its chairman Dirk Scheringa and his bank DSB, the club said on its website on Monday.
DSB, AZ's biggest sponsor, is on the verge of financial collapse and has been put under central bank supervision. But BSB has already met its financial obligations for this season and the club's budget is unaffected, AZ said.
Last year's premier league champions have also brought the football association up to speed on the situation and it sees no problems with the club's licences, AZ said.
