Dune fires are arson, says Bergen mayor

An arsonist is active in the dune area around Bergen and Schoorl in Noord Holland, Bergen's mayor Hetty Hafkamp is quoted as saying by news agency ANP.
Last night an area covering 10 hectares went up in flames between the two towns, the fourth fire in the area in two months. This cannot be coincidence, Hafkamp said.
Fire and police service experts are investigating the cause of the blazes.
At the beginning of August, 150 hectares of rare dune landscape was destroyed in a fire and 500 people had to be evacuated from their homes.
