The bankruptcy of DSB bank has caused serious financial problems for the US national speedskating association, US Speedskating.

DSB sponsored US Speedskating to the tune of $350,000 a year and the bankruptcy will leave the organisation in a challenging position just four months before the winter Olympics, according to a statement on its website.
DSB was also main sponsor of the Russian speedskaters and ran its own team in the Netherlands, which includes two-times Olympic gold medal winner Marianne Timmer.
