A third Dutch hospital is about to get a cash injection from the private sector, the Volkskrant reports on Tuesday.

The paper says entrepreneur Loek Winter is poised to take a 35% stake in the St Jans Gasthuis hospital in Weert as part of an experiment to put private capital into healthcare provision.
Rotterdam’s Maasstad hospital is also taking part in the experiment and is poised to announce its source of private funding later this week, the paper says.
Winter’s MC Groep took over the bankrupt IJsselmeer hospital group earlier this year. Amsterdam’s Slotervaart hospital is also in private hands after going bankrupt.
Health minister Ab Klink said in July he would only allow private investors to put money into hospitals under strict conditions and provided they had no say over the way the institution is run. Winter will be involved in the management of the St Jans Gasthuis operation, the Volkskrant says.
Hospitals want Klink to allow private capital. They argue they can only guarantee high quality healthcare through external investment.
