Next year no more free internet for schools
Schools will no longer be offered free internet services by former state-owned monoply KPN, news agency ANP reports on Monday.
KPN says new rules from internet service watchdog Opta mean it must always charge a basic fee for its services. Until now, schools have been given free access because of the ‘social function’, ANP said.
KPN says it has gone to court to appeal against the Opta decision which will come into affect next September.
