Liberal parties gain in latest polls

The two opposition Liberal parties VVD and D66 both make gains of two seats in the latest opinion poll carried out by Maurice de Hond.

D66 would win 23 seats if there was a general election tomorrow, the party’s best performance since 1995. The VVD would take 18, three fewer than it currently holds but a stronger performance than in recent months.
Labour (PvdA) and Geert Wilders’ anti-immigration PVV would both lose two seats. The PVV is now on 28, its lowest position in six months, the De Hond poll shows.
The Netherlands has 150 seats in parliament and Wilders currently holds nine.
