Endemol Nederland to cut workforce

The Dutch arm of entertainment company Endemol is to cut up to 65 jobs, or around one third of the workforce, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Friday.

In February, 19 Endemol Nederland workers lost their jobs. All parts of the company will be affected by the new reorganisation.
The paper says Endemol, which owns the Big Brother and Deal or no Deal formats, has been hit by the recession. TV companies have less money to spend and are more reluctant to take risks, the paper says.
Earlier this year, it emerged that the group had written off 20% of its investments because of reduced profit forecasts. Endemol Nederland was particularly affected, according to the FD.
