US press agency to court for royal photos
Wednesday 05 August 2009
The state information office RVD is taking legal action against the American press agency AP for distributing photos of crown prince Willem-Alexander and his family.
AP's pictures of the royal family skiing in Argentina were published by several Dutch newspapers including Trouw and the AD, reports Nos on Wednesday.
According to the RVD, this contravenes the media code in which it is stated that photos of the royal family can only be taken at fixed times.
The Dutch media have apologised for their actions and are not therefore being taken to court, says Nos.

What is this "royal" nonsense coming to. A bunch of rich people ordained by priests long ago in a circus of ceremonies to impress the common people that makes them untouchables. It is a outdated circus that should have been abandoned long ago. For entertainment of the citizen who will never be able to get into the "royal" circle, it is a excessive privilege, and an affront. Let the royals be celebrities like any other artist who must give up its privacy if they want to play and act silly games for the entertainment for the rest of us.
