July inflation level lowest in 20 years

The rate of inflation in July was negligible and amounted to just 0.2%, its lowest level in over 20 years, reports the national statistics office CBS on Thursday. Inflation in June was 1.4%.

Lower prices for gas (down 20%), electricity, food, telephone and internet services all contributed to pushing down inflation last month to its lowest level since 1987, said the CBS. However rents on homes went up 2.8% in July.
