Imtech books reports 12% rise in profit

Gouda-based technical services provider Imtech booked a 15% growth in turnover to just over €2bn for the first half of 2009, compared to the first six months of last year, despite the economic recession.

The company announced on Tuesday that net profit in the same period rose 12% to €51.5m.
The results were better than analysts had forecast, according to media reports.
Growth was strongest in Gemany and East Europe, said Imtech.
Imtech said it is not immune to the effects of the recession but that it has an order book worth almost €5bn for the rest of the year.
Imtech said it expects operating results for the full year to increase, both through organic growth and takeovers. It is also maintaining its longterm forecast for a €5bn turnover by 2012 (€3.8bn in 2008).
