Dutch Rail sees profit fall in first half

Dutch Rail (NS) on Thursday announced that its profit fell to €100m in the first six months, down from €166m in the same period last year.

Passenger numbers went up just over 1% in the period under review but the growth was slower than in the first half of last year (just over 2%).
Customer satisfaction also rose, said the NS. Almost 80% gave train services a score of seven out of 10.
