Woman in court for false bomb tip

A 48-year-old woman accused of falsely tipping off police that a terrorist attack was planned in Amsterdam Zuidoost in March is to appear in court in Rotterdam on Wednesday, reports ANP news service.

The woman, who was arrested in May, caused widespread alarm and the evacuation of a number of shops including the Ikea.
Police picked up several ‘suspects’ following the woman’s telephone call but these were all later released without being charged.
Today’s court appearance is a formality. It is not yet known when the trial will begin.
