North Sea swimmers warned about current

Dozens of people had to be rescued from the sea near The Hague on Wednesday after getting caught up in strong currents, news agency ANP reports.

The sea rescue brigade is warning swimmers to be extra careful because the currents are so strong, they are almost impossible to swim against.
A 12-year-old German girl drowned when she got into difficulty while playing with a blow-up whale in Zeeland yesterday. The girl’s father managed to save her brother.
And the body of a man who disappeared while swimming on Sunday was washed up on the Noord-Holland shore on Wednesday, ANP said.
