Least ‘poison’ in plums, kiwis and mangos

Kiwis, plums and mangos are the fruit least likely to contain traces of pesticides and other chemicals while cabbage and cauliflower are the least polluted vegetables, accordin to a new survey by environmental groups Milieudefensie and Natuur en Milieu.

The survey shows that vegetable eaters get most pesticides from aubergines and cucumbers. In terms of fruit, melons, grapes and pears have the most traces of pollutants.
Produce grown in the Netherlands is less likely to be contaminated than imported food, apart from strawberries, apples and cucumbers, the survey showed.
Supermarkets Dirk van den Broek and Jumbo have the cleanest fruit and vegetables on sale.
