Kroes will not come back to Dutch politics

European competition commissioner Neelie Kroes has no plans to return to Dutch politics when her period in office in Brussels is over, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

A former transport minister for the right-wing Liberals VVD, Kroes told a tv show on Monday night she would not get involved in national politics again, even if her party urged her to do so.
Kroes is keen to win a second term as competition commissioner. However, sources in The Hague say this is unlikely because the ruling Christian Democrats want to name their own candidate for a commission job.
