Job-hopping on the increase
Monday 27 July 2009
More people switched jobs in 2007 and 2008 than the preceding two year period, says a report by the national statistics office CBS on Monday.
The CBS says the figures indicate that job-hopping is more popular in a tight labour market.
Some 880,000 people moved to another job in 2007 and 2008 compared to 600,000 in 2004 and 2005. Most of these (25%) were young people under the age of 25.
Labour mobility is less common in professional work where only 5% switch jobs.
