Emigree’s daughter is new US ambassador

The daughter of a couple who emigrated to the US shortly after World War II has been appointed the new American ambassador to the Netherlands, Nos tv reports.

Fay Hartog-Levin, who studied law and Russian literature, is currently a consultant for a public relations company in Chicago. According to the Chicago Tribune, she is a specialist in non-profit and cultural organisations.
Nos tv says the appointment, which still has to be approved by the senate, is a reward for Hartog-Levin’s financial support for president Barack Obama’s election campaign.
