Demand for temporary staff drops again

The number of hours worked by temporary staff fell 24% in the four weeks to June 14, compared with the year earlier period, according to new figures from staffing agency sector organisation ABU.

Turnover fell 22% year on year.
But the drop is not as dramatic as in the previous four weeks, when the number of hours work was down by 28% and turnover by 26%.
Demand for technical and manufacturing temps was hardest hit, ABU said.
