Cafe smoking ban encourages more to stopFriday 03 July 2009 Some 1.2 million people tried to stop smoking between April 2008 and this April - or one third of the total smoking population, according to Maastricht University research. But before the smoking ban was introduced in July, some 900,000 people a year would attempt to quit the habit, the research showed. Of the people who have tried to stop since last April, one-third managed to quit for good. © DutchNews.nl Get the DutchNews.nl newsletter in your mailbox: Click here to subscribe
