State sells Fortis insurance shares
Wednesday 03 June 2009
The Dutch government has sold its shares in Fortis Corporate Insurance to British insurance group Amlin, the finance ministry said on Wednesday.
The sale will raise some €350m which will go towards reducing the national debt.
FCI, which has a workforce of 350, is headquartered in Amstelveen and focuses on offering travel, fire and personnel insurance to companies.
The government said last November it planned to sell FCI.
