A number of notary offices are getting into financial difficulty because of the slump in house sales, Nos tv reports on Monday.

In the first three months of this year, 91 notary businesses were under special supervision, compared with 61 in the year-earlier period.
A large proportion of notaries’ income comes from processing mortgage contracts and home ownership documents.
The Netherlands has some 1,500 notaries, Nos says.
