Fewer online job vacancies

The number of job vacancies advertised on Dutch internet sites fell for the 13th month in a row in May, according to jobs site Monsterboard.nl.


The strongest declines were recorded in manufacturing, transport, public sector and education, news agency ANP said.
The number of online jobs was down 53% in May compared with the year earlier period. In Europe as a whole, vacancies were down 37% Monsterboard said.

Temporary jobs

Meanwhile, the number of hours worked by temporary staff fell 28% in the month to mid-May, according to the staffing agency association ABU. The technical and industrial sectors were hardest hit with a decline of 35%.
