Deport criminal foreigners, say MPs

Friday 19 June 2009

Foreigners who are found guilty of committing crimes in the Netherlands should be deported, right-wing opposition MPs and MPs from the ruling Christian Democrats have told junior justice minister Nebahat Albayrak.

The calls came during a parliamentary debate on the case of two Moroccan brothers who have been declared undesirable aliens because of their criminal records. But the courts have refused to sanction their deportation on technical grounds.

Albayrak is currently working on plans to deal with criminal foreigners and expects to present them to parliament in the autumn, the Telegraaf reports.

I think deporting those foreigners who's criminal activities make them "undesirables or a risk to the state" should be deported with one appeal and then a quick trip to the airport, regardless of the risks they may have going home. They would have known those risks.

Minor infringements - no, jailable offenses - yes.

I am absolutely no fan of the right or the far right, Wilders is scum and a danger to the Netherlands and must be kicked out of politics and forced into obscurity, but being strong on undesirable foreigners, be they simple criminals or fundamentalists desiring unwanted or unwelcome social change - or worse - all should go. There are enough migrants and refugees who are more than thankful, grateful for the opportunities and willing participants into society.

The minister in question herself is a perfect example. A Muslim/Turk origin and very proud Dutch national who has risen to the ranks of junior Minister. Bravo!

Wilders was questioned at length on American TV recently and stated his position clearly: if anyone living in the Netherlands is law-abiding they are free to stay, but if they choose to break the law they should be deported. In Wilders' political philosophy, it is a matter of individual choice for any "Muslim/Turk origin" as you so inelegantly put it if they stay in the Netherlands.

You seem to agree with everything Wilders says, but decry him for saying it. What a strange position to take.
