Arrested swim teacher taught on nude beach

The 59-year-old swimming teacher arrested on Monday on charges of indecently assaulting dozens of girls also gave lessons on a nude beach close to Den Bosch, the Volkskrant reports on Thursday.

Benno L’s internet site, which was aimed at children, stated that he organised swimming lessons and other activities, including ‘play-fighting with my swimming teacher’, the paper says.
The website, which has been taken offline at the police’s request, also included naked photos of children. Parents had given written permission for these photos to be published, L said on the site.
A spokesman for the public prosecution department in Den Bosch said the information on the website was ‘extremely worrying’ and that the department had not been aware of its existence.
Computer repairs
The Eindhoven’s Dagblad reports that the police were alerted to L’s activities by a computer repairman, who found images of children on one of L’s computers.
Police say at least 98 girls aged six to 16 appear in the tens of thousands of images found on several computers, hard drives and cameras in L’s home.
The Volkskrant reports that L als ran four different websites featuring photographs of children swimming. ‘These photographs do not appear to be pornographic,’ the paper says. L also organised children’s photography competitions.
On Thursday, a court in Den Bosch remanded L in custody for at least three months.
