Sharp rise in March bankruptcies

A total of 670 companies were declared bankrupt in March, 130 up on February and 410 more than March 2008, says the national statistics office CBS.

However, the increase is heavily influenced by the number of days bankruptcy courts were in session and that fluctuates considerably, the CBS says.
