Royal attack: insurers to pay out max €5m

Insurance company Reaal expects its total bill for damages stemming from the Queen’s Day attack close to the royal family in Apeldoorn will not exceed €5m, the NRC reports on Monday.

Karst Tates, who drove his black Suzuki Swift into the crowd watching the royal motorcade, had a personal liability insurance policy with Reaal.
A number of people who were physically injured during the attack have already begun the process of making a claim, as have several eye witnesses, a spokesman for the insurance company said.
