Ronald Koeman has signed a two year contract to replace Louis van Gaal as trainer at premier league champions AZ of Alkmaar.
Koeman was chosen because of his wide experience of European football, the Telegraaf reports. As league winners, AZ will take part in next season's Champions League competition.
Koeman has reached the quarter finals of the Champions League with three different clubs: Ajax, Benfica and PSV.
Van Gaal has gone to Bayern Munich.
