Philips cuts more jobs in Roosendaal

Electronics giant Philips is to scrap a further 159 jobs at its lighting factory in Roosendaal because it is closing a glass smelter.

Instead, glass will be delivered to the plant from Poland.
The job cuts mean the workforce at Roosendaal has been cut from1,000 at the end of last year to 750 now, the Financieele Dagblad said.
Philips said at the beginning of this year it was to cut 6,000 jobs worldwide.
