More companies are recruiting: survey

Friday 29 May 2009

Some 46% of Dutch businesses are currently hiring, whilst 35% are firing professionals and managers, according to a new quarterly survey by recruitment company Antal International.

The survey shows that the Dutch job market is levelling out, with anticipated growth in the last two quarters, Antal said.

Internationally, some 47% of companies are hiring, compared with 54% at the beginning of the year.

In the last survey 'optimism in the Netherlands seemed to be on the wane with only 28% of employers expecting to hire in the coming quarter,' said James Darlington, head of Antal's operations in the Netherlands. 'However hiring levels have borne up fairly well at 46%, with almost as many organisations expecting to hire in the next three months.'
