Martinair, Transavia not to merge

KLM subsidiary airlines Martinair and Transavia have no plans to merge, Transavia CEO Tjero Zomer says in Friday’s Financieele Dagblad.

Rumours that the two charter groups may merge surfaced in February after KLM said it was looking at a ‘more intensive alliance’ between them.
But a merger would not be logical because ‘both companies have totally different business models,’ Zomer told the paper.
A project group is currently looking at how the airlines can work more closely together. They will both move into the same office complex at Schiphol, the paper said.
