Industrial production, turnover down
Tuesday 12 May 2009
Dutch firms produced 12% fewer goods and services in March than they did in March 2008, continuing a four-month decline, the national statistics office CBS said on Tuesday.
In addition, total turnover on the domestic market was down 15% in March and 23% abroad, the CBS said. The decline was largely due to lower prices.
Turnover fell across the board, with the oil, chemicals, rubber and plastics sector producing the sharpest drop of 34%.
