April was second warmest in 300 years

Last month was the second warmest April on record, beaten only by 2007, the KNMI weather bureau said on Friday.


With an average temperature of 12.2 Celsius, April was four degrees warmer than normal.
April was very dry, with just 15 mm of rain recorded, compared with an average 44 mm. The Netherlands also enjoyed 225 hours of sunshine, compared with an average of 162 hours.
