VVD has a mole in Wilders’ camp

A Liberal party spy is attending the closed meetings for supporters organised by anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders, VVD MP Fred Teeven says in Monday’s Volkskrant.

And the language used by Wilders is much more extreme than in parliament, Teeven quotes the mole as saying. ‘What I understand is that Wilders shows very little respect on these evenings,’ Teeven told the paper.
In addition, Teeven claims to have been banned from attending the gatherings, despite earlier promises he would be allowed in.
Meanwhile, Christian Democrat stalwart and academic Anton Zijderveld has resigned from the party following its refusal to rule out forming a coalition with Wilders’ PVV after the next election. That decision is ‘absurd’, Zijderveld told the Volksrant.
The CDA too has a lot of trouble with anti-Islam sentiment, he said. ‘We must not drive Muslims away. That is life-threatening. But by moving towards Wilders that is what you are doing. I do not want to be in such a party.’
Alexander Pechtold, leader of the Liberal democratic party D66, has ruled out forming a coalition with Wilders, who is currently riding high in the polls.
