Minister Donner fools colleagues on April 1
An April Fool’s joke by social affairs minister Piet Hein Donner about working hours fooled a number of ministers, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.
The minister said at last week’s cabinet meeting that a new directive would come into force on April 1, forcing ministers to work no more than 48 hours a week, or 168 hours in a seven-day stretch. There would also be compulsory rest periods, the paper said.
There was no word on which ministers had fallen for the joke.
