Dutch tv production company Endemol has developed a new format based on workers not the boss deciding who should be sacked in a company hit by the recession.

The format Someone’s Gotta Go has already been sold to Fox tv in the US, an Endemol spokesman told the AD.
The programme may also be developed for the Dutch market but it depends on what Dutch rules and procedures allow, CEO Paul Romer told the AD. ‘But that is a question of working things out,’ he said.
A spokesman for the FNV trade union federation told the paper that redundancy rules are laid down by law in the Netherlands. ‘Nor do we think that something like redundancy should be used as tv entertainment,’ he said.
