CDA wants veggie cookbook bannedWednesday 22 April 2009 The agriculture ministry should be banned from publishing a vegetarian cookery book because it is anti-meat propaganda, the Telegraaf quotes a Christian Democrat MP as saying on Wednesday. Jan Ormel told Radio 1 that the money should be spent instead on an information campaign about the importance of animal testing. The cookery book is due to be published by the ministry's food information centre shortly.

...which, of course ISN'T propaganda. *shakes head* By CW | April 22, 2009 8:57 PM Somehow this news seems disturbing. The minister Jan Ormel got it all backwards. I think he is wrong, and needs to re-think our place in this natural world. As modern humans it's difficult not to cause harm to this planet and it's inhabitants, but at least we can try some ways to minimize the harm we cause. Eat no meat it you can. If you can't then eat less meat - preferably biological. Think with our head and act with our heart! By Paul K | April 23, 2009 8:34 AM When a veggie cookbook shares the same fate as Mein Kampf, it's time to fold up shop and start a new country. By Jen | April 23, 2009 10:24 AM The article said the MINISTRY should be banned from publishing the book. Maybe some people think a government ministry should leave publishing cookery books to a (commercial) publishing company? What is it with country about wanting to ban books? My guess is that agriculture ministry (Voedingscentrum) has also published books about meat cookery -- should all the vegetarians scream, and what about the fruitarians?
