Restaurant returns Michelin star
Thursday 05 March 2009
The owners of a restaurant in the southern province of Limburg have handed back their Michelin star, reports Nu.nl on Thursday. 'We want to do our own thing again,' Suzan Kagenaar-Stevens told the news website.
The restaurant In De'n Dilligaard in the village of Nuth was given a prestigious Michelin star in 2004. But now the owners want to redecorate and introduce a new menu to attract a wider public.
The Michelin star gives the restaurant the image of being 'small, expensive and formal', Kagenaar told Nu. 'People come with a certain expectation and you feel pressurised to fulfil it,' she said.
