Lelystad in grip of ‘Jack the Pricker’

The city of Lelystad is in the grip of a series of unprovoked stabbing. Four people have been stabbed since December 2008, one of whom died, say media reports.

The unknown assailant, who has been dubbed ‘Jack the Pricker’, attacked his latest victim on Tuesday when he stabbed a man working in his garden. The man is now in a critical condition in hospital.
In December, a woman in a park and a man walking his dog were both stabbed. And two weeks ago a 30-year-old man died from stab wounds.
The police have an artist’s impression of the attacker and are continuing their inquiries.
