Delft mayor has 79 extra jobs

Opposition councillors in Delft are demanding that the city’s mayor Bas Verkerk gets rid of some of his 79 extra functions, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

In particular councillors are angry about the mayor’s outside work with the Dutch local authorities association, the civil service pension fund ABP and the EU in Brussels, the paper says.
‘These are big jobs which take a lot of time, time which the mayor could better spend in his own city,’ said one councillor.
