Border cannabis cafes to closeThursday 05 March 2009 All the coffee shops in the border towns of Roosendaal and Bergen op Zoom must close by September 16 2009, the towns' respective mayors confirmed on Thursday. The mayors said last year that by closing the coffee shops, a euphemism for cafes selling marijuhana, they hoped to bring to an end the nuisance caused by the 25,000 drug tourists a week. Lawyer Harrie Nieland who represents the coffee shops told the paper there was little he could do until they are actually closed down. 'But if you want to change drug policy, you first need to discuss it nationally and also check EU law if you want to discourage European tourists,' he told the Telegraaf.

I guess the only benefit of this will be that it will force Belgium Drs to prescribe the 0.05 euro per gram Belgium grown cannabis. That is correct - 0.05 euro per gram (supply @ cost) to Belgium patients who are lucky enough not to have to cross the border to Holland to get pain and illness relief ... which cost Dutch patients lucky enough to get the Ministrie version @ nearly 48 euro a gram!!! By Gerard | March 5, 2009 3:57 PM Ending the legal trade in cannabis is easy, ending its illegal trade is *impossible*! Currently, the coffeeshops shield us from drug dealers in a way the police could never hope to achieve, but when we force the coffeeshops to close there'll be NOTHING to protect us from drug dealers. They'll come selling cannabis to whomever wants it, they'll come bringing violence, and they'll come making cannabis easily accessible to minors. If you think we have a problem now, take a look at these towns five years from now! By Legal Production and Sale | March 5, 2009 4:33 PM Place your comments: |
